Mechanical Properties of Natural Fibre Reinforced Geopolymer Composites: A Review

چکیده

The cement production consumes many natural resources and energy, pollutes the environment, cannot meet current building materials’ green sustainable development requirements. Therefore, geopolymers have gained popularity as replacements in recent years. Geopolymers promising characteristics such low energy consumption carbon footprint, valuable compressive strength, fire resistance, flame resistance good durability. However, these materials suffer from tensile flexural strength. Hence, fibres are added to overcome issues enhance their toughness index. Natural biodegradable, low-cost, renewable widely available countries. This article reviewed previous Fibre Reinforced Geopolymer Composites (NFRGC) studies, focusing on strengths, toughness. In addition, literature effect of treatment methods mechanical properties NFRGC has been addressed. findings indicate that adding appropriate type content geopolymer composites can properties. more attention should be paid effects pre-treatment performance NFRGC.
